THE KANSAS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND

The Kansas Alpha Delta Kappa sisters are working together to endow scholarships at the six Universities in Kansas. Hats off to all Kansas Presidents since 1994, starting with Fran Wisner, to make this Kansas Altruistic Project over the years.
Kansas knew they could not sponsor a full scholarship, so it was decided that it would be offered to an education major in her last year of study.
Since the Kansas State Scholarship, because of federal law, the scholarship is available to an education major in their final year of study, female, or male. Kansas wanted to continue to sponsor education graduates in Kansas.
The University administers the endowment, and applicants need to apply through their Education Department/Financial Aid Department for seeking guidance at their respective universities. Kansas Alpha Delta Kappa does not make suggestions or influence theB awarding of scholarships.
These basic requirements were established for this scholarship.
The student needs to be working toward a degree in Education, or to be used in education.
The student needs to be in the final year of study in their Education Major, pursuing a teaching career.
Kansas is so immensely proud to sponsoring these young educators, that they might complete their studies and pass on the tradition of outstanding educators.
You may want to read the article in the Kappan, May 2008, Lunch With Lyla to see how it all began.
Kansas Alpha Delta Kappa has endowments at Kansas University, Emporia State University, Pittsburgh State University, Ft. Hays State University and Kansas State University. We are currently working on finishing with Wichita State University.
